Morgan arrived at the shelter as a three-month old kitten in September of 2014. He was totally blind in one eye (which had leaked out because of an untreated Chlamydia infection before Danica took him) and his other eye wasn’t in good shape either. His left rear lower leg had obviously been amputated, but we didn’t know why or when. The bigger problem was that the surgery was performed badly and unskillfully, his leg was cut in the totally wrong place and his stump had basically had the skin sewn shut over the bone. What was even worse, he was leaning on that leg as he walked so it was possible the bone would protrude through the skin when he got bigger and heavier and the bone itself could break longitudinally under the burden of his weight, just like one of Milance’s legs did. He was operated on and almost died during his surgery, due to his weakened heart. He died peacefully in his sleep in April of 2015.
